Sandblasting concrete to create a profile in coeur d Alene Idaho
Horton Industrial, industrial ship

High-volume air supply is one of the most important factors in achieving fast, consistent, high-quality blasting results—especially for the large steel structures, equipment, and industrial surfaces common throughout Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Spokane, Sandpoint, and the surrounding Inland Northwest. Mobile blasting depends on a strong, steady stream of air to remove coatings, rust, and heavy buildup efficiently. When a contractor shows up with underpowered equipment, production slows, media flow becomes inconsistent, and the final surface profile suffers. That’s why Horton Industrial Inc brings serious air power to every project within 200 miles of Coeur d’Alene, operating a 1300 CFM, 900 CFM, 600 CFM, four 375 CFM, and two 185 CFM compressors. With this range, we can match the perfect air volume to any blasting job across North Idaho and Eastern Washington—delivering fast removal rates and a uniform, high-quality finish every time.

To support that air power, Horton Industrial Inc also deploys heavy-duty blasting and cleanup equipment tailored to the demanding projects found throughout the Inland Northwest. Our fleet includes (2) 8-ton blast pots and six 600-lb blast pots, providing long continuous blasting runs with minimal downtime—ideal for large industrial sites, bridges, heavy machinery, and commercial properties from Spokane to Kellogg to Moscow. After blasting, we use a 200 HP diesel-powered industrial vacuum to handle rapid cleanup of media and debris, keeping job sites clean and ready for coating. And when projects require elevation, our two 40-ft boom lifts give us access to high or hard-to-reach steel. This combination of high CFM air compressors, large-capacity blast pots, powerful cleanup systems, and elevated access equipment allows Horton Industrial Inc to complete large-scale mobile blasting projects quickly, efficiently, and with results that smaller setups simply cannot match.

Past Projects

Ship Factory in Anacortes, WA

Horton industrial recently had the opportunity to sandblast and completely repaint the inside factory deck of a 180 foot ship in Seattle Washington. The boat was suffering from years of corrosion from seawater and harsh chemicals attacking the metal surfaces for this project. We brought our 8 ton glass pot, our 1300 CFM air compressor and our 200 hp deck loader, portable vacuum we sanded all of the metal surfaces, including the ceiling walls and the floor we primed all of the surfaces and then we laid down a quarter inch thick layer of epoxy on all of the floors. This coating has proven to be the most durable surface that with stands the constant seawater that flows over the floors after the epoxy dried we top coated the floors with gray and painted all of the walls bright white.

Bridge Beams in Plains, MT

An ongoing customer for us is a bridge manufacturer based in Montana usually a couple times per year we will go to their shop, sandblast, large bridge beams, and either epoxy paint or metal eyes the surfaces. These projects usually require very high levels of precision because every step gets inspected for the state that the bridge is going to. On the project in the photo, we sand blasted these 120 foot long bridge beams and metal them using TH 700 zinc from thermion. We apply 10 mils of pure zinc to the surfaces of the steel beams. After the sandblasting. This process is called arc spray metallizing after the bridges are done getting sanded and painted at the shop in Montana. They get loaded onto a truck and transported to the port of Seattle from there. They are loaded onto a barge and transported to Alaska once they get to Alaska. They are shipped by truck to the project site where they are performing generally a bridge replacement. These bridge jobs are very impressive projects that we are proud to be a part of. They really showcase the capability of our company and the investments we have made in our equipment.

Shipping Containers in Spokane, WA

Another ongoing customer we have is a shipping container conversion company based out of Spokane, Washington. For the past seven years, we have been sandblasting these containers for this customer. The containers are built overseas and shipped over to the United States with a holding primer on them. The end customer requires that these containers have a specific surface profile and coding system on them that the overseas manufactured does not provide therefore we use our equipment and the proper blast media to remove the holding primer and provide the proper surface profile on the surface of the metal so that their new coating system will adhere properly.
